emendations offered are הבשׁשׁה (ex בושׁ), synonymous with תתחמקין ‘indecisive’ (Duhm); שׁדודה ‘distracted’ (Cornill); השׁובָבָה = המשֹׁבָבָה ‘whom homecoming beckons’ (Rudolph). For תתחמקין (the form with final nun coincides with Arabic; cf. GK 47o) Sept. has ἀποστρέψεις ‘turn away’ and this is favoured by Giesebrecht (‘defect’) who cites Cant 5:6 (חמק = ‘had turned away’, NEB, REB). Vulg. has deliciis dissolveris ‘distracted with luxuries’, Targ. מתחסנא למתב ‘hold yourselves back from returning’
